This photo has nothing at all to do with sailing in Japan. Of course we do have our fair share of rocks and yacht racing mishaps however I have never seen a Yacht actually parked on the rocks here in Japan. Well, not yet anyway.
When it comes to weird stuff this photo is a classic. If it were me who put my boat up there I would curse the modern information age. Still the boat was parked on the rocks and photos were taken. I found this photo over at http://livesaildie.com
The photo shows what happened to Mr. Manning who was trying to get the drop on nineteen yacht fellow racing competitors of the Royal Channel Islands Yacht Club. When interviewed Mr. manning simply called it an “embarrassing moment”
This is one racing yacht accident that boggles the mind. I want to know just how the yacht is maintaing it’s balance. As a saving grace it is said that very little damage was incurred to the boat and none to humans.
